To wrap up the week of Homeschooling Info I've listed resources that I use.  Also, remember that other homeschool moms are your BEST resources!

ORDERING –

YWAM – Youth With a Mission carries Young Heroes, International Adventures, Christian Heroes Then & Now, Devotionals, etc.  First booth I ALWAYS go to at the Book fair!

Homeschool Book Fair – Annually in Arlington Convention Center! Go & learn! Take deep breaths the first few years in the vendor hall! You do NOT need everything from every booth!  Also, check prices at CBD before going to make sure you’re getting the best deal.  www.homeschoolbookfair.org

BIBLE – First Step Bible up to age 5; Children’s Story Bible up to age 8

Easy Reader Bible up to age 12

ESV or NAS Teen Study Bible up to age 16

Chronological Bible 14+

ESV or NAS Study Bible 16+; The Bible Dictionary has been a great resource as a mom & for teens

ENGLISH –

Alphabet Island (Eagle’s Wings Educational http://www.eagleswingsed.com/) Get the complete set, it’s expensive but can be used for all your children

A Reason for Handwriting (A Beginning Advantage http://www.abeginningadvantage.com/) We used Levels A, B, T – purchased Student Workbooks only

Italic Handwriting We used Level C & D – purchased Student Workbooks only

A Reason for Spelling

Spelling Power covers several levels in one book

Progeny Press has literature study guides for all levels

Grammar Plus is great for Jr. High Grammar!

MATH –

Alpha Omega Publishing Horizons for grades 1 – 5

Bob Jones University (BJU) for grades 6 – 12

SCIENCE –

Christian Liberty Nature Readers is a great series you can find at CBD for younger kids

A Reason for Science for grades 2 – 5

BJU Science for grades 6 – 12

HISTORY –

This is probably the area with the most choices / diversity (it’s also my favorite).  Most can be found on CBD or YWAM or the library
